ORANGE AND BLUE UMBRELLA is part of a 2010 Beach Study series of 18 x 24-inch gallery-wrapped photographs. Jane Rader photographs the beach in a contemporary, impressionistic style — offering the viewer an array of soft, horizontal lines of sand and sea, interrupted by moments of activity on the beach. As a painter and graphic designer, Jane’s purposely soft-focus style of photography allows the artist to paint with her camera.
